My love story with Coffee Project started last 2019 when my friend Abbie, who lives in Makati area invited me for a breakfast at the Coffee Project 21st Taguig. I remembered ordering their corned beef and also, a little bag for a to-go coffee (which I never saw again) but back to the corned beef breakfast, it was hefy and delicious. As she has expected, I fell in love with how overtly done it was. There's no coffee shop as beautiful and as extravagantly decorated as Coffee Project. Fast forward to pre-pandemic, I've been to Coffee Projects both near ABS CBN-one of my solo travels and Symphony Tower-where I tried working with the hubster for the whole morning before we went to UP Town Center, Coffee Project Butuan wherein we segued buying some home decors from All Home and of course, the one and only Coffee Project near our home which is here, Coffee Project Talisay City. Coffee Project has helped me and the hubster a lot of times when the pandemic bore us to death and we want to just roam around Talisay and look for a place where we can work and eat good food.

If you've been following my IG, I think I've had about 2,000 pictures uploaded in this place alone; granted that the lighting is challenging but it's aesthetic and charm totally made up for it. The trick there is always go for the area where the light is most visible. Case in point, these photos

We lived right beside a dental clinic for the first 8 years of my life

Coincidentally, HA-Dental, anyway, coincidentally, the dentist there was also my godfather, and since we managed to find each other on Facebook (in this case, his wife), he is not yet retired and still practicing his profession after all these years.

With that being said, dental procedures are not new to me, though not exactly an enjoyable experience because my 6 year old self is very very intimidated by all those foreign-looking tools, I personally think that every one has to go through it because I only had toothache once when I was 11 and to this date, I can still remember how painful it was; The most poignant memory I had of that pain was I felt my teeth throbbing and the pain spreading from the top of my head down to my chin.

 Fast forward to pre-pandemic, I maintained my annual dental appointment with my mom's dentist here in Cebu and there are no pressing issues with my teeth anymore. What I said, I show up for the appointment, keep it, undergo the actual cleaning procedure, listen to the dentist's advice, then leave, go back the next year. The only time I stopped going was during the onset of the pandemic last March 2020 and managed to go back and schedule with Affinity Dental this May 2022.

Ideally, you should have a dentist clean your teeth every 6 months. On top of my head, I can already come up with 10 reasons why it''s difficult to maintain that but if you've already had a toothache, you will undergo the responsibility of making your dentist appointment faithfully. 

 Not just for aesthetics, tooth cleaning can prevent cavities, tooth loss, over all lessens your propensity to be diabetic and develop heart problems in the future, preempts future oral problems-which in turn, will save you money and time. There are tooth problems that are not covered by insurance when they need to be operated on and these are the same tooth problems that could have been prevented if you could have been committed to keep your dental clinic appointments

As an adult who is trying to cope with being an adult, I keep my dental appointments not because I enjoy going to them but because the consequences are more agonizing than the discomfort of sitting in the chair and trying to gargle your blood away.

I'm now 35 years old and I would like to thank Affinity Dental for entirely changing a from "I have to go to the Dentist" experience into an "I am looking forward to meeting my Dentist" one. From the receptionist and her companions in the front desk, dental assistants and the dentist herself, they made me feel comfortable and safe all throughout my whole teeth cleaning procedure. Although if I may be honest, the risk was more of on the dentist side since she's the most exposed one during the whole time my mouth was open

 

Also, how cute is this pen? It has a small slot for 5 sprays of alcohol

        Not just a blank statement on how they made me feel comfortable and safe, I had to don a PPE, protective cap and gloves for every one's safety

 

And before going into the actual procedure of cleaning my teeth, we had a clinic tour. I'm very sure they are also giving me time to relax since not everyone is keen on the idea of having unfamiliar tools prodded into their mouth. Here are some pictures of Affinity Dental Clinic

 

 

 

 

Sabi nila for kids, in which I immediately replied, for adults din because some adults skip their dental appointment dahil they are also scared and anxious. But I just have to say this, HOW CUTE IS THIS ROOM?! If it weren't for the dental engine and machines there, this could also be a cute peg for a kid's room-which is the point of the whole room. Haha

I am just going to also state the obvious that their rooms are bigger than the usual clinics and the primary reason for that is to alleviate the anxiety of patients just in case they feel too cooped up in a small space. Affinity Dental's clinic lay-out is solely focused on giving their patients an enjoyable experience and not for each dental appointments to feel like it's just a procedure.

 

My dentist gave me a very brief explanation of the steps to be done during my oral prophylaxis before actually doing it and while of course no, I was angling for a better content for a video, she was also very patient with me. My oral prophylaxis is just the first step to having my teeth whitened; the xray and laser teeth whitening procedure will be done by June.
