-lights so dramatic that my first-born will be baptized here

As you have noticed, we are currently revamping our blog's lay-out and it can be a tedious process. We also changed the title into something wittier yet retaining it's light and quirky peg. It currently has a minimalist feel and we hope you like it!

Looking at my backlogs, I STILL can't believe I didn't write about Balay Sa Agta or Agta Cave. My friends from the office and I went here a few months ago and it was one of the memorable adventures we had because it requires me conquering my fear for heights

We are already well-oriented about Argao because we have an existing project located at the same area so no locals can pull off a flimflam. We were glad that our drivers already know where this was located because there wasn't any clear signage on the way there.

What I remember was that from Argao Proper, We traveled for 45 minutes towards the mountains (I'm so sorry that this entry might not be helping you much with regard to going to that area but you can ask the locals since Balay Sa Agta is a popular tourist attraction

We paid Php25 per vehicle and a service fee (not fixed) to the Argao-anon who served as our guide. Before getting to the cave, you have to walk the steep and narrow path way towards it's entrance. On average, the walk lasts for 30-45 minutes.

It is ideal that you visit the said area on a weekday so that there's a lesser chance of you encountering another batch of tourists. This was one of the scariest path that we have to pass by. There's no safety harness in this area and well, should you fall, I can only promise to say good things about you.

Before entering the cave, there is a pathway where the road gets narrower (as if it's not narrow as it is already) and to everyone's delectation, we were provided with safety gears. You can check the abseiling video here.

--and that is one happy face marred by photo edits

--the view from where I stand

From the entrance of the cave towards the end, you will need a flash light because there are no artificial lights inside. The walk from the entrance towards the end will also take 30-45 minutes and I am overwhelmed with the sights Balay Agta offers

 (SO BEAUTIFUL EVEN WITHOUT EDITS)

--I've never seen ants these big before

Why it was named Balay sa Agta, I will NOT tell you, but check out this place with your friends and when you get to the endmost part of the cave, turn your lights off and you will understand why.

It was more challenging to get back to the steep pathway of Argao Mountains and check out these videos to know why

Here are the things that you NEED to have on your trip to Balay sa Agta/Agta Cave

1. Extra shirt (We went here from 10AM-1PM and d*mn it was hot on our way back to the civilization)

2. Water (Since this is not a highly-commercialized area, there are NO people selling food and drinks here)

3. Flashlight (Don't rely on the sky light if your eyes are as faulty as mine)

4. Camera (Unlike Aguinid, you can bring your DSLR here)

If there's a story I'd be willing to share to everyone, it will be all about my mother. Overrated as this sounds, my mother has got to be the most kindhearted person ever born in this world. She has always been a life-changer to majority of the students she meets.

My mother is a public school teacher for 30++ years now. A teachers' pay is a pittance compared to the work load they get. I've always had this notion that not only my mother loves her job, she is an embodiment of a noble one. You can rarely find a teacher who would be willing to go above and beyond her job to guide her students out of the official school hours. There are countless times that my mother has supported a lot of her students through financial means but what most people remember her by is her presence itself. Generosity is seasonal to some, but to my mother, it's something that's innate to her.

So what's the purpose of that short, yet heartfelt entry? You see, every one needs some one they can look up to. Some people call it their hero, their idol, or their peg so to speak. I'm just blessed enough to call her my mother. Every one has an Annie Juezan on their life. You might even be one right? So let your story be heard at SHARE A STORY, SAVE THE WORLD: A VOLUNTEERS' MEET-UP
